We are favorites against Pakistan in the ODI series Shakib Al Hasan

The Bangladeshi all rounder believes that his side would be the favorites to win the ODI series that would be played against Pakistan. Shakib thinks of it the best chance for him and his team to come up with some wins Pakistan. Shakib would be flying to Kolkata in a few days where he will take part in the IPL for his franchise Kolkata Knight Riders. Shakib will play the initial two matches for his franchise and then will be moving back home to be a part of his national team.

Shakib said that his performances in the those matches in the IPL will matter a lot and if I do well in both of them then it will all favor me a lot.

Shakib thinks that he and his team are way ahead of the Pakistan’s new team. Pakistan is coming to our land with a quite young and inexperienced side and we all know that there will be pressure on them.

The retirement of Misbah Ul Haq and Shahid Afridi will definitely cause them some major concerns and due to these major changes I think we have a very strong chance against them.

We have beaten some big teams in the past. We have beaten New Zealand seven times in the past and well all have seen that they ended up as the runner ups in the World cup.

I have talked to the boys including our captain and they are all very hopeful and positive that this time we will snatch a series win against Pakistan. Pakistan holds an upper hand on Bangladesh the out of 32 times these two teams have faced each other Bangladesh have only managed one victory against them and that too came way back in 1999.

Since then Pakistan have played two bilateral series in Bangladesh and won both. In the T20 Pakistan has never lost to the Bangladeshi team.

Pakistan will be playing two tests, three ODIs and a single T20 match during the upcoming series in Bangladesh. The only factor that goes against the Pakistani team is the lack of experience in the young players.

Pakistan will be playing with some big names like Hafeez, Umer Gul, and Saeed Ajmal but still the inexperience of the young lads present amongst them will be a bit of concern.

Shakib looks at the coming year as a great opportunity for his side to learn more about the international cricket as they will be facing some big names like India, Australia and South Africa in the upcoming series.

Shakib looks at the world cup as a good one for him and his team. We performed well in the cup. We made it to the quarterfinals and that have helped the team a lot to gain the confidence needed to perform big.

The young players have emerged as the vital signs of the future of Bangladesh cricket. We hope that this continues in the future and we find more talented players from our domestic structure.
