Sri Lanka vs UAE Highlights Today – Asia Cup T20 – 25 Feb 2016

Sri Lankan team lost their recent series against India which shattered their confidence. However now Lasith Malinga, Angelo Mathews, Rangana Herath and Nuwan Kulasekara have rejoined the team which will strengthen the whole unit. They have targeted to achieve a good balance not only between experience and youth but also they have a wonderful mix of seamers as well as spin bowlers in the team. However their batting lineup is still vulnerable because no one has been able to fill the gap created after the retirement of Sangakkara and Jayawardene.
UAE have surprised everyone by confidently emerging as winners from the mist of qualifying round, defeating the most favorites, Afghanistan. However tonight is their test against a well-established international team that is madly in search of victories to regain their lost confidence. So a tough challenge for you guys.

During the qualifying round, some new match-winners have emerged for UAE, which could help them not be just another Associate participant among the big boys. Rohan Mustafa, Muhammad Kaleem, Muhammad Usman, Mohammad Naveed and Shaiman Anwar are among the players who can construct a challenging hurdle for Sri Lanka who have historically been ruthless against Associates. If Sri Lankan relentless bowling clicks today, we may watch a no-contest sort of scenario. However one should hope that UAE are well aware of the situation and will make a solid plan to make the opposition feel their presence.

Everyone is waiting for Lasith Malinga with his ferocious yorkers. He is returning after nearly four months of absence from international cricket. In last November, while playing against West Indies, he suffered knee injury. He will be up against a relatively young horns and one can imagine what may happen if he finds his line and length right.
Pitch & conditions: Mirpur had a green top for the Bangladesh-India encounter but it is unlikely that a similar pitch will be greeting Sri Lanka and UAE. A surface devoid of grass and with slower speed can be expected. There is rain in the forecast but nothing that should threaten the game.
