Sarfraz Ahmad is the new head of the Pakistan cricket team in the shortest format, t20. Sarfraz has taken over the job left by the old yet veteran Shahid Afridi. Afridi who was presumed to be getting retired after the world t20 is not going anywhere.
He will be part of the team but accepted his failures as a captain and stepped down from the role. PCB took a few days to finalize the new name and as expected it was the vice-captain Sarfraz Ahmad who has been given this new job.
Sarfraz in his interview from Karachi said that he was more than happy to represent Pakistan in the T20 format. He said that he would take the whole team forward and will try to give his 100% in the field for Pakistan.
Sarfraz also said that he does not mind playing with anyone. He said that the selection of the team depends on the selection committee and his job is to lead the selected players now. He said that Shahid Afridi did a decent job.
Sarfraz said that he has learnt a lot from Afridi and he thinks that he has never seen such a big superstar in international cricket. Sarfraz also said that captaining the Quetta Gladiators in the PSL has helped him a lot. He said that that experience has given him so many ways to look at the game and him ahs learnt a lot from the team mentor Sir Vivian Richards. Sarfraz also thanked all those people who supported him in his career so far.
