Taseef Ahmed, Waseem Haider and Wajahatullah Wasti included in Pakistan’s new selection committee headed by Inzamam ul Haq.
LAHORE – While addressing a press conference on Monday, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shahryar Khan announced that former legendary batsman Inzamam-ul-Haq has been appointed as the chief selector of the Pakistani team.
Shahryar stated that the name of the team s coach will also be announced in a few day s time, adding that it is not necessary for the head coach to be a Pakistani national or a foreigner. Shahryar also announced that former spin legend Mushtaq Ahmad will serve as the head coach of the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
Khan announced that he is thankful to the Afghan Cricket Association for their cooperation in regards to Inzamam s appointment as the side s chief selector.
Inzamam while addressing the media said that he is thankful to the Board for giving him the responsibility of the chief selector. He announced that Waseem Haider, Wajahat ullah Wasti and Tauseef Ahmed will serve as selectors along with him. Inzamam said that better results can only be produced through patience and added that he shall try to do justice with his post. He expressed his hope that he will be allowed to work freely.
Former star batsman said that he will take into consideration on the suggestions placed forward by the captain and the coach. Inzamam said that he has accepted the designation as a national responsibility.
