It all happened when, Afghanistan’s star batsman Mohammad Shahzad scored a splendid 39-ball 61 to set the tone of the match in a close 14-run triumph over Scotland in their opening match of the World T20 qualifiers, however he made something more to be on the news in the social media all across – as he got involved in an awkward situation with Afghanistan’s coach Inzamam-ul-Haq.
As Shahzad walked back to the dugout, after being dismissed in the 13th over, everybody started congratulating him for his match winning knock – as at that time Afghanistan were cruising smoothly at 107/2, with still seven overs left.
At this juncture, the Coach Inzamam, who is no stranger to making a mockery of himself, again stood up to the occasion and thought to congratulate his star batsman with a high-five only to be left red-faced a moment later.
What he did is, left his seat in the dugout and approached Shahzad and raised his hand in an attempt to style a high-five with the star batsman. However, Shahzad, after the knock, already feeling like a national hero inside bluntly ignored the high five and walked past the dude coach Inzamam. At this occurrence Inzamam realising the humiliation lowered his hand and directed his attention to the match, pretending with a red face that he had walked out to do that only and see the match closely.
Well, after all, certain things always remain the same and it seems that Inzamam’s habit of being run out by his partners still continues even into his coaching days.
