Chris Gayle dances with Afghanistan players

It was a historic day in the world of cricket. Just when people think or regard a fixture as useless or boring, T20 cricket always hits back to surprise us. West Indies became Champions of the format in the 2012 edition and with three wins in a row in the 2016 version looked well on course for a record second title. But what actually happened on Sunday shocked everybody! Afghanistan have come close against all team’s they have played so far, which meant they always posed some sort of a threat to the West Indies.

As things panned out, West Indies players got overconfident. Chris Gayle was rested for the Afghanistan clash, a move made by the West Indies management to keep their most prized batting asset fit and running for the semi-final clash which will be either against Australia or 2007 Champions India. Their overconfidence ending up haunting them at the end and although they are already through to the semifinals, the West Indians suffered a confidence denting loss to Afghanistan right on the brink of the next round. What does this mean for Darren Sammy’s men? Have they lost their form.

One exciting thing about West Indies cricket is their joyous and lively nature. They did lose the game, but the Caribbean stars were still seen satisfied and happy having made it through to the next round. The following video shows how Chris Gayle is seen doing the famous Dwayne Bravo dance. The Afganistan players sort of celebrated every wicket using that dance and it was always going to be interesting to see how the West Indian players reacted to that.
