Islamabad United has done a great job in the third playoff against the mighty Peshawar Zalmi. Sharjeel Khan hit the first hundred of the PSL in tonight’s game but Islamabad United did had some things to look upon from the first half.
First of all, Smith looked completely lost tonight. He hit a staggering fifty last night and after 24 hours he was struggling to hit the ball with his bat. The second flaw was the sending of Khalid at a stage when Russell might have been the best choice for many.
However, the man for Islamabad United in the first half was Sharjeel Khan who hit the maiden ton of PSL. It was a brilliant batting display of confidence and class. Sharjeel was facing the likes of Wahab, Tait, Asghar and Afridi and yet he looked busy all the time.
There were plenty of sixes in his innings along with a series of fours. Peshawar Zalmi had no clue where to bowl at Sharjeel tonight. The commentators have questioned Afridi’s captaincy for tonight as well in the field.
But then again the Peshawar Zalmi bowlers did a decent job in the death overs. There was no plenty of fireworks are seen in the final overs and which is the major reason that Islamabad United have only made 176 with the loss of 3 wickets.
This total could have been more. Now Peshawar Zalmi will have to make a match out of this game. There is not much dew today and hence, the bowlers will not face problems in gripping the ball. This will test the Peshawar Zalmi batting tonight.
